Nightlife: Beer Bars (Lady Bars) + Bar Guide

Here you can take a beer and also play games or chat with the thai girls working in the bar. Some popular games are four-in-a-row, wood games, dice game, hit spikes with a hammer and backgammon. If you like the girl and enjoy the game you can buy her a drink. Do it beacause she earn a little money if you buy her a drink, and for you its very little money. (120 Bht)

In Patong these bars are mainly located at Bangla road and its side-streets (soi), but there are also a bar district along beach road nearby Thara Patong hotel and a new district is popping up at sea pearl massage. Patong is always crowded during high season and if you want more quiet and less people you should head to Karon and it's beer bars.

At Karon beach the bars are at the northern part of Karon (Patak Rd. East), nearby the circle cross or in the southern part in a soi like the ones in Patong. I dont know the name of that soi, but there is a big sign "Happy Bar" when you are driving along the beach road (Patak Rd. West). You will also find some more bars in the middle of Karon, along the beach road and some other groups of bars I havent checked out at all.

My little overview of the bar districts and the bars (and also the gogo bars if they are in the same district). This guide cover most bars in Patong but I know I havent include everyone in Karon beach. Click on the map to get more details about an area!

Patong: Bangla Road

Note: As you can see on the picture to the right, you have to walk in to see the bars that are in the background, hided by the restaurants and shops that are closest to Bangla road. On this soi they have one DJ and they play same music on all street. This soi is probably the most popular beer street in Patong, always crowded, clean, safe, big TVs, nice and beautiful ladies.

Soi Crocodile (Bangla Rd)
Tequila Bar, Rock'n'Roll Bar, Baby Bar, Parrot Bar, Dollar Bar, Suwan Bar, Tweety Bar, Pretty Woman, Top Model, Star Bar, Cherry Bar, Nicky Bar, Lovely Bar, L'Ambassade, Schumi Treff Bar, Hop Hop Hop Bar, Happy Night, Lovi's British Bar, Shake It Up Bar, Andaman Queen Cabaret a gogo, Rock World.

Note: This soi is always crowded in high season as you can see on the picture at the top of this page. Closest to the main road there are often Lady Boys hanging around and want you to go and see the queen show at Andaman Queen Cabaret or want you to photo them (for money). Personally I dont like Andaman Queen, especially if you want to see the show and dont like to be disturbed by hard-pushing girls/boys who begin to massage you, want you to buy drinks for them, take photos for money and so on. Even if you say NO they continue.

Soi Gonzo (Bangla Rd)

Note: This street closed in Feb 11, 2000. Many of the bars here moved to the new UB40 area or opened new bars around in Patong.
